A Trading Junk by Chinese School — large framed print

A Trading Junk

Chinese School, 19th century

Sailing

This 19th-century Chinese painting shows a trading junk under sail. An inscription on her sail reads 'Fo Shan Lian He Dian Zao', meaning 'manufactured by the United Shop in Foshan', which probably names the sailmaker. The painting is in Royal Museums Greenwich.
