Fukagawa Susaki and Jūmantsubo
Utagawa Hiroshige, 1857
From Hiroshige's series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, published in 1857. A great eagle swoops over the snow-covered Jūmantsubo plain at Fukagawa, its feathers drawn in fine detail. A floating bucket lies on the water below and Mount Tsukuba rises in the distance. This impression is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
