Utagawa Hiroshige, 1857
Hiroshige made this print for his series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo about a year before his death. People hurry across the Ōhashi Bridge on the Sumida River as a summer downpour sweeps in. Van Gogh painted a copy of it in 1887. This impression is in the Cleveland Museum of Art.
