Lake Suwa in Shinano Province
Katsushika Hokusai, c. 1830–32
From Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. Two pine trees and a small shrine stand on a hill above Lake Suwa, with a castle on the water and Fuji beyond the far shore. The print is dominated by the Prussian blue that made the series famous. This impression is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
