From Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, published around 1830–32. The red-brown summit of Fuji rises into clear sky while lightning flashes across the dark lower slopes. The print is often paired with Fine Wind, Clear Morning, which shows the same mountain in calm weather. This impression is in the Library of Congress.
