General Dwight D. Eisenhower
Thomas Edgar Stephens, 1947
Thomas Edgar Stephens painted General Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1947, two years after Eisenhower had led the Allied armies to victory in Europe as Supreme Commander. Stephens painted Eisenhower several times, and Eisenhower went on to serve as the thirty-fourth president of the United States from 1953 to 1961.
