Wild Poppies, near Argenteuil
Claude Monet, 1873
Monet painted a woman and child walking through a hillside of poppies near Argenteuil in 1873. The pair appears twice, at the top and the bottom of the slope. The painting was shown at the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874 and is in the Musée d'Orsay.
