Night sky and moonlight paintings, framed

Van Gogh painted the night in Arles in 1888, the Café Terrace at Night and Starry Night Over the Rhône, and The Starry Night from his window at Saint-Rémy in June 1889.

Caspar David Friedrich's Moonrise over the Sea (1822) and Two Men Contemplating the Moon hang with Hiroshige's Kanbara: Night Snow and Moon Pine at Ueno, Winslow Homer's Kissing the Moon (1904) and Frederic Church's Twilight in the Wilderness (1860).

Bierstadt's Mount Vesuvius at Midnight (1868), Arkhip Kuindzhi's Saint Isaac's Cathedral by moonlight, Venice by moonlight and moonlit lakes and streams by Hermann Herzog and Albert Rieger complete the set. Each is printed at its true shape, nothing cropped or stretched, and arrives framed and ready to hang.

14 works in this collection, dated 1822 to 1904. Most represented: Vincent van Gogh (3), Caspar David Friedrich (2), and Utagawa Hiroshige (2). Sources include The Cleveland Museum of Art, Alte Nationalgalerie, and Musée d'Orsay.
