Minis

Johann Peter Krafft painted a group of artist friends firing a cannon on the ramparts of the fortress near Ostia, recalling an episode of 1808 that included the painter Ferdinand Jagemann. Old guns lie on the platform as the men lark about under an Italian sky. The painting is in the Belvedere in Vienna.
