Lewis Hine photographed a worker on the steel frame of the Empire State Building, with the Chrysler Building's spire rising beyond. Hine climbed the frame with the ironworkers to record the building's construction in 1930 and 1931. The photograph was donated to Wikimedia Commons by The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
