The flag at Tranquility Base
NASA, 1969
The United States flag stands on the Moon in this view from inside the Apollo 11 lunar module on July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong's and Edwin Aldrin's footprints show clearly, and the black-and-white television camera that broadcast their moonwalk stands in the far background. NASA photograph.
